Previously working as a Development Executive for Producers Matt Alvarez (2012-2015) and Scott Bernstein (2015-2018), Matt Leslie was heavily involved in developing the script for the 2015 box office smash STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON. In 2018, he left the development world, co-writing (with partner Stephen J. Smith) and producing the indie thriller SUMMER OF ‘84, which premiered in the Midnight Lineup at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. The forthcoming mystery-horror film THE KNOCKING, produced by Kodiak Pictures and Defiant Studios, marks Leslie & Smith’s feature directorial debut. The writing-directing-producing duo currently have a number of scripted projects in development.
